Houston Hall

222 W. Houston St., New York City; (212) 675-9323; Houston Hall

Attention, downtown Manhattanites: Your go-to watering hole also serves as a spacious locale for weekend activities other than sports revelry—weddings. Check out the industrial beer hall for ceremonies and receptions with up to 200 guests, where you can exchange vows against a brick backdrop framed by twinkling market lights and dine on dishes paired with your favorite local brews. With its open floor plan, wood beams and lofty skylights, the hall boasts all the charm of a raw, rural barn without having to travel north of Houston Street.

[rating itemreviewed=”If you are looking for a warm, intimate wedding venue, without being too conventional- Houston Hall is hands-down the right choice. We got married at HH on 1. 15. 17 and I would not change one thing. My husband and I are 34 & 39 & have been to plenty of weddings. While they are all beautiful in their own way, we knew we wanted something a little different. Houston Hall delivered on all fronts. The space transforms itself- the exposed brick wall, antique bar, stone entryway, massive arch window- you can’t beat the artistic ambiance these elements create! Anyone who has seen wedding photos, immediately asks about the venue. We set up the wall of string lights as the backdrop for our ceremony & hung them over the dance-floor- I highly recommend this! Not all of our guests were able to sit for the ceremony, but the fact that our family & friends ‘lined’ part of the aisle actually added a unique element to the ceremony. It felt casual, yet really special. Lauren Gargano was our coordinator & I felt like she was a guest by the actual wedding day. She must have responded to 20 emails before we even booked the space. Trust her, let her do her thing, she will get every one of your needs met! She was incredibly honest with us & her opinion was spot-on! She checked in with us & my family multiple times throughout the night to make sure we were happy. We had 150 guests- plenty of room for a dance floor, with a 9 piece band. There were a good number of bartenders and servers- each staff member was super helpful and polite. The food was very important to us and all I’ll say is my family keeps asking when we can go back for dinner! Cocktail hour: tuna sashimi tacos, beef sliders, pork sliders, fig & prosciutto flatbread, mini gruyere & sautéed onion grilled cheeses and buffalo wontons. Family Style Dinner menu: Steak, Cod, Fried Chicken (by far the crowd favorite), Mac-n-cheese (holy incredible) and melt in your mouth Mashed Potatoes. We couldn’t be happier w our wedding.” rating=”5″ reviewer=”Janine” dtreviewed=”01/15/17″ best=”5″ worst=”1″][/rating]
